The piece (to slip, to slit, to sigh) celebrates the relationship between queer people as they navigate what it means to be together in shared isolation, not just within the pandemic, but long before it. In three parts, we investigate what it means to slip: stumble into situations that we weren’t necessarily emotionally prepared for and become vulnerable—to slit: become defensive and create personal and physical isolation—and to sigh: be pulled out of isolation by our support systems. The three parts interconnect as the two dancers navigate through the process of healing as a queer person.
